First confirmed case of coronavirus in South Africa

Early today the South African Minsiter of Health, Zweli Mkhize, confirmed the first case of coronavirus to test positive in the country.

The Minister stated on his Twitter account and other media sources that a 38 year old male flew in from Italy and had symptoms. He was checked by a local doctor and a nurse sent swabs for tests. The tests came back positive for Covid19.

The KZN man, his family and the doctor have been self isolated.

This is a developing story.
