The UK politician said that he had mild symptoms including a fever and a persistent cough on Friday.
Johnson is the first high profile world leader infected by the virus. First Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife Sofia was infected and then German Chancellor Angela Merkel was in contact with her doctor who tested positive for the virus.
Merkel has gone for two tests that came back negative and is waiting for a third result just to be sure.
All three leaders have self isolated themselves and are working from home.
The U.K. currently has nearly 12,000 coronavirus cases, and 580 people have died from COVID-19, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
